Marketing Strategy and NZ Marketer
If you’ve been around long enough, you’ll remember the original Milky Bar Kid and the Toyota Hilux “Bugger” ad campaigns. Both became iconic Kiwi commercials to be updated years later. I loved watching these ads, They made me laugh and I thought how much fun it would be to have a job making them. I didn’t end up in an advertising agency, but I worked with them a lot over the years. It was these ads and a sibling who worked in product marketing that sent me down the marketing path. My first job after varsity was as a Marketing Co-ordinator with American Express; a fantastic training ground for a graduate.
From there I continued to gain marketing management experience in corporate environments across highly competitive financial and telecommunications sectors over 15 years and took that experience with me when I went out on my own as a freelancer.
Since then I have continued to update my skills, especially in digital marketing.
What’s important to me is a positive outcome for my client- be it the development of a clear strategy or runs on the board. I’m very pragmatic, with a strong commercial focus and experienced in all areas of marketing and distribution channel management. I believe that experience enables me to successfully work alongside my clients as their marketing partner.
Having freelanced for 17 years, I’ve worked across a range of different industries and have helped clients achieve clarity around their marketing and sales strategies as well as implementing their marketing programmes for them. I’m experienced in digital marketing having established digital strategies for businesses to improving sales results and customer loyalty through the use of digital and social media marketing.
I enjoy helping clients with their marketing and brand strategy. Getting this right makes everything else fall into place. I’m hands on, so expect me to put my hand up to help with rolling out your plan. I’m also used to working with budgets of all sizes and have built marketing budgets from the ground up for clients ensuring that they achieve an ROI.
