Crash Management needed help in recovery from the business impacts of lockdown from COVID-19.
Like many businesses, the lockdown not only the client’s business during the periods that the country was closed, but it also completely changed how businesses would need to operate in a post- COVID environment, with more businesses decentralising, or allowing employees to work from home, The impacts of this made business owners rethink how they work long term and for many that meant bringing services in house that had normally be operated by Crash Management, in order to meet their own savings targets over the next 12mths or for however long the uncertainty continued.
Crash Management lost over 70% of their regular monthly revenue during the lockdown period and then went on to lose their keystone client after the country moved to Level 1.
The business owner needed to pivot their business to ensure their unique and valuable service could remain operating, and that staff could be retained. The risk was that without being able to turn the business around in the next 3 mths, the business would not survive.
The owner approached ATEED for help and was recommended to talk to Max Marketing.
Since then, we have helped Crash Management to identify ways in the short term to address the immediate issues with engaging similar clients to those she has worked with in the past, by applying some campaigns that will work to attract new customers. However, we also have identified some opportunities that will allow them to potentially enter a new market with their current offer that could be a game-changer for the business.
Crash Management is a success story for the RBP COVID relief funding that demonstrates how valuable this support is for businesses on the brink of failure, and how this small step can make a big difference in making a business better again.
We developed our COVID-Recovery plans in response to the needs of our clients, ahead of the news that this could be fully funded under the RBP programme.
In responding to the market need, our aim was to be able to deliver a very tightly focused programme of work that would be able to identify opportunities within a client’s capability that could match the needs of existing or future customers.
Recognising the climate and also out of a need to work quickly, we developed these end to end 15-20hr programmes that could be run very succinctly but applying the best of our collective expertise. The plan develops a short-run strategy to help a business adapt their products, service, communications and promotions to the new market landscape with the smallest amount of resources over the shortest period of time.
The programme we took Crash Management through is our COVID-Planning recovery programme. It starts with a 1hr video meeting of the current situation with two senior marketers. Then there is a review of data and info and (if available) the opportunity to seek insight from the customer base or within our network of other clients and customers.
From there we then have a 3hr video workshop to evaluate with the owner the opportunities, capabilities and current USPs. Following this, our marketers review the digital assets of the business and other relevant material and produced a plan which will take into consideration all opportunities and showed Crash Management how to work these into new customers and new revenue streams, and recommend marketing suppliers that can assist with implementation if they need them. We put the company in touch with an experienced Telemarketer and showed them how to use this company to engage prospects right away with a compelling offer.
The company is doing a great job of following the plan already and they are excited about the potential the business has, as well as feeling confident that they will be able to remain to trade for the next 3mths as they recovers.
This statement from the business owner:
“Max Marketing has been able to inject a breath of fresh air, enthusiasm & positivity to support our re-build. They have identified new prospective market sectors, new product positioning, and also recommended resources that will help support our efforts in a cost effective way. With their on-going help I am now confident that I can not only re-build lost revenue, but can now see there is potential to double our market-share & revenue within the medium term. I found the external support and expertise extremely valuable at what was a very challenging and uncertain time during COVID 2020.
MaxMarketing delivered technical skills that our small business simply did not have access to previously. They also bought fresh and broader thinking to the company that is not possible when the owner/operator is buried in day-to-day operational issues. The guidance, structure and discipline delivered by Max Marketing forced us re-focus and re-energise, and helped pave our way to recovery and a rebuild after the destruction of COVID. For any business finding themselves in similar difficulties caused by COVID or other market forces, I would strongly recommend engagement with Max Marketing. Their independence and expertise is gold-dust!”
