Survus came to us in 2017 for help with engaging their customers and creating better marketing processes. We set them up with a communications plan and mentoring for the in-house marketing manager who didn’t have any other marketing personnel to share ideas with. We worked alongside Amber over the next 12mths to help establish the right operating rhythm, develop some KPIs and guide them through rebuilding their website. They came back to us in 2019 to help them bring a new division to market, and then again in 2021 when Amber moved on from her role, to become a fractional Marketing Director for the company.
Working with Amber Arkle was easy as she had lots of very strong ideas on what to do with marketing, a passion for the business and an aptitude for content development. As an FCMO we helped to shape some of Ambers thinking and put in some measurements for her plan with key milestones and anticipated results. Over time, as the company not only achieved but smashed it’s goals, the role of FCMO shifted to help drive the marketing performance and look for new ways to grow the busienss, which included developing a plan for a new venture. When it was time for Amber to move into a new role outside of the company, it was easy for us to step back into the business and pick up the implementation of the marketing plan, reporting and goal achievement for the business.

Why did you/your business engage Max Marketing ?
I can’t remember where they were recommended from but we have been working with them for a few years now on various projects and entities.
How did your marketer help you and your business achieve results ?
Initially Louise set a Marketing Strategic Plan for Survus which was being implemented by our inhouse sales/marketing staff member, who left at short notice end of last year. The hand-over internally was very unfortunate with us having 1 week prior to Xmas and the rest being within holiday period so since then we have engaged just an internal sales person (no marketing as such) so have been working with Maria since and continued implementing the plan. Given we are really busy there has been no real fallout from not having someone inhouse running it but due to everyone else inhouse having other roles it has been a challenge to keep a tab on everything.
What results have you seen so far ? / What results do you expect will come from your plan ?
Currently the main projects being worked on have not come to an end (GOOD+TITLE upgrade, Survus+Rural website etc.) so there are not really any deliverables to measure as yet. Advertising bookings and the like seem to run relatively smoothly. We are aware there is a lot of intel that Maria has that we could access if we had the time to do so.
What was the highlight of working with your marketer or the outcome you were most pleased with ?
This is a work in progress – it is good having someone to get stuff done but being remote and not inhouse doesn’t make it any easier. I aint a great Zoomer!
Anything else you’d like to add ?
I am undecided if the current setup is the best for us, with no dedicated inhouse person and a team reviewing it at this end – ideally a part-timer inhouse would be good but we don’t have the budget for this as yet.
